About Simon Hughes
Simon Hughes played first-class cricket for Middlesex and Durham, winning four county championship titles with Middlesex, before becoming one of the game's most trusted analytical voices — first as Channel 4's "The Analyst," then across radio, print and now independently here. His television work pioneered ball-by-ball technical analysis for a mainstream audience, and he's written ten books on the game, from the award-winning dressing-room memoir A Lot of Hard Yakka to histories of the game and the business of the IPL.
The Analyst Inside Cricket brings that same rigour — and a healthy dose of wry scepticism about the received wisdom — to video, podcast and the written word, independent of any broadcaster.
Simon Mann
BBC Test Match SpecialJoined the BBC as a radio commentator and has been an essential member of the BBC's Test Match Special team since 1996. His deep knowledge, observation and dry humour is a great antidote to the more eccentric elements of TMS. His one weakness is a lifetime allegiance to Bristol City FC. Essential part of The Analyst podcast since 2017.
Matt Prior
Former England KeeperFormer Sussex and England wicketkeeper who played 79 Tests for England between 2006 and 2013, and featured prominently in England's 3-1 Ashes triumph in Australia in 2010/11. He made a century on Test debut and finished his career with the best batting average (40.18) of any England keeper since WW2. He has worked in the media for TNT and the BBC and is a forthright commentator.
Deep Dasgupta
Former India KeeperBorn in Kolkata, Deep learnt his cricket in Delhi and played eight Test matches and five One Day Internationals for India as a wicketkeeper-batter between 2001 and 2006. He made one Test hundred and opened the batting in a side containing Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar. He is now a Hindi and English commentator and works regularly on both English and Indian TV.
